Hello My name is Solomon Mwakasungula, I am working as public health researcher with Ifakara Health Institute a non Government organization registered in Tanzania. I have over 12 years working experience in the field of malaria, TB and emerging and re-emerging infectious disease. I have masters degree in infection biology form University of Basel/SwissTPH and Bachelor degree in Biotechnology and laboratory sciences from Sokoine university of Agriculture. My research interest is on molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases and i would like pursue a PhD studies in field of Arbovirus (Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika and Yellow fever) surveillance in Tanzania. I would like to combine PCR, sequencing and Bioinformatics to understand the transmission, circulating strains and serotypes, in vectors and human to identify hot-spots and suggest a mitigation strategy for the next epidemics I would like to apply for Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) to support the PhD studies in Singapore. I am looking for support, mentor who have successfully applied for this award whom i can work together to increases the chance of securing this award. I will be gretiful to get a mentor for this call
