Research Fellow, Academia Sinica
Location: Taiwan
I obtained my Bachelor degree in Zoology from National Taiwan University in 1987, and a MS degree in Biochemistry from National Yang-Ming Medical College, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1989. After working as a research assistant at the Graduate Institute of Biological Chemistry, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, I joined the research group of Prof. Kelley Moremen at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Georgia, Athens, GA, USA, for my PhD research, and obtained my PhD degree in 1998. After completing postdoctoral fellowship supervised by Dr. Livingston Van De Water at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr. Michael Wolfe at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA, I successful secured a faculty position at the Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology (ICOB, previously known as Institute of Zoology), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan in 2002. Since then, I have been the principal investigator of the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology at ICOB, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and have directed an independent research program that aims to solve the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease, and neuroblastoma, and related neurological disorders. Currently, I hold the rank of Research Fellow at the ICOB. I have published more than 60 papers in reputed journals and have been serving either as an editorial board member or as a peer reviewer of prestigious journals.
