Professional Narrative

As a Medical Doctor and Public Health Researcher at CNRST/Health Sciences Research Institute, my research activities focus mainly on the analysis of the spatiotemporal dynamics of epidemics (in particular malaria) and of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
As a researcher on quantitative and econometric methods for health research, I have proposed and published (bio)statistical approaches for the analysis of Spatio-temporal clusters, for the assessment of epidemic dynamics, and for the evaluation of the impact of health programs through routinely collected data. In this framework, I proposed approaches to assess the relationships between seasonal transmission, especially of malaria, and different factors such as climatic factors, economic behavior, and population mobility. Furthermore, in the context of the unplanned events of 2019 (health workers' strike) in Burkina Faso, I provide statistical approaches using time-series data (malaria routinely collected data, weather), other survey data (DHS, MICS, SARA, etc.), and other contextual data to address the long term missing data and predict weekly malaria cases for each health district.
In addition, knowing that in most sub-African countries, malaria control activities are implemented at the health-district level (the operational entity of the national health system), and malaria readiness indicators are regionally or nationally representative, I provided an approach for estimating health district-level malaria readiness indicators from survey data designed to provide regionally representative estimates.
Besides my activities on quantitative and econometric methods for health research, I am also in charge of the pharmaco-epidemiology and Drug Safety research axis within the Nanoro Clinical Research Unit (CRUN) and involved in the design and the implementation of the research projects in the Nanoro site.
Regarding my daily activities as responsible for the data management and biostatistics section of the CRUN, I’m in charge of drafting the data management plan and the statistical analysis plan for research projects implemented at the CRUN, or all research projects under the responsibilities of the CRUN (in case of multi countries studies).
I also provide methodological support for study design. I develop and produce research databases, ensure the quality of the data, clean up the databases and their statistical analysis.
