Dr. Scott Dryden-Peterson completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, his residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and fellowships in Infectious Disease and HIV medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital all in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Dryden-Peterson’s research focuses on cancers arising the context of HIV, which have become the leading cause of death for people living with HIV globally. This work is primarily based at the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute in Gaborone where he leads teams examining mechanisms of excess risk of cancer, disparities in treatment outcomes among individuals with HIV infection, and strategies to improve access to timely oncology care in resource-constrained contexts. Dr. Dryden-Peterson is co-founder and co-director of the Botswana Oncology Global Outreach (BOTSOGO), and member of the Executive Committee of the Harvard Center for AIDS Research and the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute.

Clinically, he attends as an infectious disease specialist for oncology and transplant patients at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and sees patients at Phyllis Jen Center for Primary Care.
