Dr. Jin-Rong Zhou, Associate Professor, Surgery, Harvard Medical School, Director, Nutrition/Metabolism Laboratory, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Functional Foods for Chronic Diseases Session Chair, received his PhD in Nutritional Sciences at University of Illinois in 1994. He completed his postdoctoral training in bio nutrition and cancer prevention at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and was awarded a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health.

His Research Interest includes the study of the role that diet and nutrition may play in the prevention and treatment of certain types of cancer such as breast, prostate, pancreatic and bladder cancers, and to investigate the mechanisms of action of active dietary and nutritional components.
