Professional Narrative

Hannah Mercier is a full-time research faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Department at the School of Health Technology and Management. Dr. Mercier’s research interests are the effects of disability on health and participation and interventions to mitigate these, including the development and implementation of individualized mobile health interventions. Furthermore, Dr. Mercier studies smartphone-based digital phenotyping to understand time-dependent relationships between health and participation after major injury and trajectories of psychosocial wellbeing. Dr. Mercier serves on the Stony Brook University Interprofessional Telehealth Board and is a research consultant to Empower Spinal Cord Injury, Inc. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, American Spinal Injury Association, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
