Dr. Giulio Romeo's professional activities entail clinical, research and educational facets, primarily in the fields of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. As a staff physician at Joslin Diabetes Center and in the Division of Endocrinology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Dr. Romeo has cared for patients with a wide variety of endocrinological conditions, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr. Romeo has a specific interest in the management of diabetes in patients who are post solid organ transplant, who have a particularly high risk for cardiovascular complications. His clinical interest also includes thyroid disease and his research also focuses on novel approaches to curb insulin resistance in patients with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes and on the effects of these strategies on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
