As Director of Brain Function and Recovery Lab, I lead and conduct clinical and translational research projects across the continuum of brain injury rehabilitation (Mild traumatic brain injury to Disorders of consciousness due to acquired brain injury). My specific job duties include conceptualizing brain injury research, writing research protocols, Institutional Review Board approval, data collection, data analysis, and disseminating data (presentations and publications) scaling up projects, and grant writing. I am involved in multisite research trials including assessing and implementing the use of tele-neuro assessments in the brain injury population. I have also collaborated with researchers locally and internationally to conduct research projects in using neuroimaging methodologies in the brain injury population as well as in assessing the use of robotic therapy (exoskeleton) in patients with stroke. As an Assistant Professor, I am responsible for teaching medical evaluation and intervention for neurologic disorders, research methodology/guidance, including statistical analysis to graduate students. My job duties also include co-editing and reviewing brain injury-related scientific publications and newsletters.
