Professional Narrative

I've been a professor in the microbiology and molecular biology department at Brigham Young University since 2008.  My expertise is in animal models of how HIV-1 causes AIDS.  My PhD work was on latency of herpes simplex virus type 1 in mouse models, including neurological gene therapy applications.  In my current lab, we also study antibiotic resistance and biofilms in MRSA.
