Bonnie B. Blanchfield is a health services researcher and consultant. She is a Senior Scientist in the Center for Innovation, Division of General Internal Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Partners Healthcare. She is also the Research Advisor for Crimson Care Collaborative, a Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital student run clinic and holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School and an adjunct appointment at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
Blanchfield’s career started in public accounting at KPMG and then moved to corporate management before she decided to redirect her career to health care. She combines her understanding of accounting and corporate finance with her research skills to conduct policy relevant research and program evaluation looking at health care costs, health care delivery, care redesign, and patient safety. She has been a Senior Research Scientist at the MGH Institute for Technology Assessment and MGH Mongan Institute for Health Policy, the Research Director at Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program, and a Researcher Scientist at the Center for Health Affairs at Project Hope. Bonnie has served as acting CFO for several small companies including Iora Health and is currently advising a health care venture capital fund and start-up company.
Bonnie earned a BBA in Accounting from Siena College, SM in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and ScD in Managerial and Institutional Analysis from the Harvard School of Public Health.
